I turned seven months just in time for Christmas, which meant I got to enjoy all the sights, sounds and excitement of Christmas watching mostly my brother take in all this time of year! It was the best. Now I am a whopping eight months!
Hoyt thoroughly enjoyed Christmas. While he did not open a single gift, others did that for him. He enjoyed all the lights, smiles and thrills of Christmas. He loved seeing family and also a special treat a week and a half at home! Of course mom and dad may have enjoyed that time at home most of all. I will not keep it a secret I long to stay at home all the time!!! He loved his gifts. Especially the ones he can use sitting up. And his favorite may be his bath seat at the moment.
Hoyt has mastered sitting and has gained another tooth. Smilie has both lower front teeth. He also has a lot of congestion. So from time to time I call him snots. I can’t tell or count how many tissues we have gone through!
Hoyts new excitement is trying out new things. He is quite skillful at grabbing the toys he would like to play with. The baby gate is back up at the basement stairwell because is his on the move in his walker! And we can’t forget he likes to try new baby foods. And boy oh boy he likes eating! He eats about two tubs at every meal. And some nights he smacks his food in utter enjoyment! Hoyt is showing signs of crawling very quickly. I know it is close to being here. So we dropped his crib mattress down and he is adjusting well. When he is seated he inches ever so slowly to a new location. If he is on his belly he is trying to get there. Sometimes he nudges up on his knees but can’t quite master the stance for long.
And words? We have our first word. His first word is Dada. He is not quite saying just to Mike but he is saying it very routinely. In the mornings you can catch him whistling. Dad can whistle, but Mom and Welsh can’t. So he likes trying out his new skill!
I have to also note for the sake of noting, Hoyt has had the nastiest virus this month. High fever, ugly congestion and pink eye! But the Dr says it is just a virus. Praying it gets out soon.
Our last days of seven months were spent Christening our little boy. It was special spending this time with our family and dedicating him to the Lord with our church family. Hoyt got up from his morning nap ready for the special day. He even stayed up way past nap time to enjoy the full day. He did get in a whopper of a nap once the festivities died down. Pray he grows to be a healthy, strong and dedicated man often Lord.
Happy Eight Months sweetest Hoyt. We love you!
