Hip hip horray! Here we are at twelve weeks. So hard to fully appreciate and understand that twelve weeks ago little Hoyt was born. We did anticipate his early arrival. In fact we were thinking he’d be late! And now this smiley ball of fun is twelve weeks old.
He is a special son. He loves life and is taking everything thing in these days. He is very observant like his brother was. Hoyt likes to sit and look with his fists near his mouth. I guess it is his thinking pose. We often wonder what is going on inside his little head. His smile lights up the room and gives off such a joyous spirit. Warning when he is unhappy you will know instantly because he is normally so very happy that when he screams you realize something is just not right for him.
Hoyt still enjoys his play mat fun and swaying from side to side. He gets in his stretches from head to toe and also his kicks. He’d much rather be sitting but tolerates the floor. And this little boy can hold up his head so very well. Most of the time we let him hold up his head without assistance. It is fun to see him so physically capable at such a young age.
Hoyt is a decent napper. He can nap for about an hour or so. Sometimes he will nap in the rock n play and sometimes you have to hold him. While I’d love him to nap on his own, I realize he is only going to be this little for a period and our baby spoiling days are getting fewer and fewer. So holding him is just as precious and having him sleep alone. Four months will be here so soon. I feel like we have blinked and it is twelve weeks.
Hoyt has not mastered sleeping through the night. He does sleep a solid six hours or so then gets hungry. It’s a huge change from the two to three hour nights of just two weeks ago! Praise the Lord for extra sleep.
Here’s to the last weekly post and moving on to monthly posts and here are a few memories of week twelve:
- Smiles are contagious and warms the soul
- I can hold my head up mostly unassisted
- I’d much rather sit looking around than anything
